Rural Decay

Rural Decay is a game made in Bitsy and is my first experience working with the engine. I know people who have been impacted by the war in Ukraine and how many have been displaced. According to this article, over 8 million people have fled from Ukraine so far. I wanted to create a game that captures that experience in a somewhat more abstract way, with the setting being more ambiguous to show how this could happen to anybody and promote empathy. I wanted the player to experience what it would be like to be in a situation where everyone you know is leaving and even though you want to stay, you don't have a choice in the matter, either.
